The first goal that I want to reach for this STN practice is to have better sequencing. When we did our last video, we just got interviews and B-roll and we didn't really think about matching the B-roll with the interviews until we started editing. We got interviews of people saying what they like to do at the beach but then we only put the B-roll as something totally different like of them sitting down. This next STN practice we definitely need to improve on sequencing.
My next goal for this next STN practice is to have better and more meaningful interviews. Last STN practice we just asked simple questions like " What to you like to do at the beach?" and "What do you enjoy about the beach?" After doing interviews I thought that we should have asked better questions like "Why do you like to surf?" or "Why did you come to this beach?" I thought that if we would've asked those type of questions, we would've done a whole lot better.
The last goal that I want to reach for this upcoming STN practice is to get better sound. Since our category in STN is Nat Sounds, we should use the big Boom Mic because that can get really high quality sound. We could get really close up shots of something and us the mic to pick up almost all of the sound it makes. We can even use the mic for the interviews and we just have to keep the mic completely still and point it right at the interviewee and it will catch all of the sounds.
Overall, looking at the video from the last STN practice, we have to improve a lot if we want to do good in the real competition. My goals for this next STN practice is to have better sequencing, my second goal is to have better and more meaningful interviews, and my last goal is to get better sound. Well that's it for this blog post, thank you for reading and have a great day!
