The first thing that we can do to make the announcements better is all show up to practice the announcements on time. This is so we can run through the script and make the transitions smoother. Because if we practice the script more often, then that would mean there’s a less likely chance that we’ll mess up. Plus it’s would be good to show up on time as a titler, so less time would be spent typing out the titles and more time would be spent on practicing fading on. It’s also a good chance for the announcer to get more familiar saying the names of students who have their birthday that day, because I know that’s one common difficulty.
Another thing that we can do to improve our announcements is by having the announcers scripts ready and approved before the morning of the announcements. This is because it’s quite the process to print out and make a backwards copy of the script every morning itself; and having to finish creating the script that same morning would take up even more time! Plus, by preparing beforehand the script would less likely have mistakes in them. I know that when being rushed, mistakes are more likely to be made. So by taking the time to make the script earlier, it would just make everything smoother.
The last thing that we should do to make the announcements as best as they can be is to make sure that the advisory game, and the weekly video are on the Tricaster and elmo the day before it air. With the game or the video being in the Tricaster or elmo the day before, the next morning we can just find any mistakes and not waste that much time like we would if we didn't put the video or game in the day before.
Overall, I think that these are the three things that we should do to improve on the announcements. It is to be on time in the announcements room in the morning, have our scripts done and approved the day before it airs, and to have the Kahoot game or weekly video ready the day before. Well, that's it for this blog post, thank you for reading and have a good one!
