The first tip I would give to the next year students are to be always bring extra equipment to shooting. I've always had problems with forgetting something and ruining the whole shootout. Take my second quarter project for instance, Kaycee and I (Ben wasn't there at the time) were filming an interview and after the interview I checked the sound and it was good, but I didn't check the whole video and the about 30 seconds in the video, the audio cut out. After that I was really angry and so we had to reshoot the interview and we almost didn't make the project on time.
The next tip I want to share is to not waste your time. This is kind of like procrastination but your should try your hardest not to waste time. For media, time is very important and you should do everything when you get it instead of waiting till the end to do it. That is what I did with my 3rd quarter project. I did my TIAS and my script but I waited a lot time to film. It was the last day before it was due and I filmed and edited. That was an experience that you wouldn't want to go through.
The last tip I want to give to the newbies joining media is to always try your best. I have tried my best for most of the year but some things I didn't try my best and I ending up not getting a good grade. I suggest you try your best all of the year so you can get good grades and feel confident of yourself.
Well those are all of my tips that I have for the students that join media next year. Those tips are to one, bring extra equipment to shoot, two, don't waste your time, and always try your best. Thank you for reading and have a great day!
